Twelfth Night Procession

On mid-evening of the 5th of January the Three Kings arrive to the camp located in the park next to the walls of the city, near the “Pujada de les Pedreres”. Musicians, jugglers, climbers and acrobats jump and sing while waiting the beginning of the parade of the royal committee through the streets of the city where the children are waiting for them with their lamps and singing a welcome song. When they arrive to the “Plaça del Vi”, the Major of the city welcome the Three Kings to the city. There the Gaspar, the Blonde King, offers a cake to the people from Girona. Then Melcior, the White King, liberate a white pigeon symbol of peace. Finally, Baltasar, the Black King, acknowledge all the people in the square for their presence, hope that they have behaved correctly and insist on the children that they go to sleep early to facilitate them the labour of delivering all the gifts in this magic night.
